Breakfast | Sides

I am happy to say out of 4 items in this category, I've tried 3, and felt no need to try the 4th.

  • Hard-cooked Egg
  • Seasoned Home Fries
  • Turkey Sausage Patty
  • White Rice

Hard-cooked Egg

(in the container on the plate)

Turkey Sausage Patty

(just right of the hard cooked egg)

Egg personal rating: 😐 (neutral face)

It's just a hard-boiled egg. No taste whatsoever. Sprinkle a little salt on the plate and rub in some salt. Personally, I'd rather eat scrambled eggs.

Sausage personal rating: 👏 (clapping hands)

Sausage... ah, the only breakfast item GUARANTEED to be savory. Not VERY savory, of course, but savory enough against a sea of bland food. I recommend you cut it into at least 4 pieces to help you wash down anything tasteless, like the scrambled eggs.

Home Style Fries

(on the plate, next to scrambled eggs)

Fries Personal Rating: 👍(thumb up)

It's just diced potates with salt, but again, against a sea of bland food, it stands out. I had to use some of it to help me finish that tasteless oatmeal. Personally, I'd much prefer the sausage patty, unless you REALLY want those carbs.

No, I'm not rating a small bowl of plain white rice. I'd much rather have jook with chicken instead.

Welcome

Welcome to Picky Patient's Guide to Sutter Health Patient Menu!  Click on "Start Here" in the menu bar if you are not sure where to go.  As a former patient, I took some photos, and decided to rate the individual items.  This is meant to be a totally un-serious look at "hospital food", and no infringement or disparagement was intended. I understand it's difficult to make meals for hundreds, if not thousands of people at a time. And the ratings are a bit of... tongue-in-cheek. Any way, on with the guide.
