Lunch and Dinner

The Lunch and Dinner menu can be a little confusing without a bit of explanation. It is composed of the following sections:

Sections are optional. You can skip sections you don't like, and order double the sections you like (like dessert) as long as it fits within any dietary restrictions (such as a carb limit of 60g)

I personally recommend you skip the break basket, and go with the following:

Starter: Tossed salad or caesar salad

Bread basket: nothing

Soup: whichever that sounded good to you (I didn't like the Friday Southwest Black Bean Soup)

Entree: One of the two daily specials for that meal, usually pretty good, unless you REALLY prefer salad or sandwich

Sides: I generally order cauliflower and potato mash to cut down on my carbs, with a bit of brown sauce (beef gravy), but vegetable medley (mix of broccoli, green beans, and carrots) is not a bad choice either. However, you need something with a little salt to help you eat the veggies if you do order the veg medley. If you really need variety, try the roasted sweet potatoes.

Beverages: You don't really need me on this, do you?

Dessert: Lemon Italian Ice and Ice Cream (vanilla or chocolate are good)

Welcome

Welcome to Picky Patient's Guide to Sutter Health Patient Menu!  Click on "Start Here" in the menu bar if you are not sure where to go.  As a former patient, I took some photos, and decided to rate the individual items.  This is meant to be a totally un-serious look at "hospital food", and no infringement or disparagement was intended. I understand it's difficult to make meals for hundreds, if not thousands of people at a time. And the ratings are a bit of... tongue-in-cheek. Any way, on with the guide.
