Lunch and Dinner | Entrees

The entrees section can be a bit confusing, but here's the simple version:

There are 2 x Lunch Specials and 2 x Dinner Specials for each weekday, yes, including weekends.

If you don't like those, you can order the daily's, which are ALWAYS available (for either lunch or dinner), but it'd be plain stuff like "burger", "grilled cheese", "tuna sandwich", and stuff like that.

I personally recommend you order the lunch specials or the dinner specials as much as possible.

Anyway, let's go onto... the Daily stuff

Daily Cold Entree

  • Chicken Caesar Salad with Dressing
  • Fruit and Cottage Cheese Plate
  • Roast Turkey Sandwich
  • Tuna Salad Sandwich
  • Egg Salad Sandwich
NOTE: You can request sandwich on wheat bread instead of white bread!

( if you order a sandwich, please specify "garnish" from the following:

  • American cheese
  • Swiss cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Onions
  • Pickles
  • Avocado
  • Mayonnaise
  • Mustard
  • Ketchup )

To be honest I've NEVER ordered a cold sandwich while I was there.

Daily Hot Entree

  • Hamburger
  • Cheeseburger
  • Grilled Cheese sandwich
  • Grilled Ham and Cheese sandwich
  • Penne Pasta with Marinara or Meat Sauce
  • Teriyaki stir fry vegetables with Chicken or Tofu (see personal review below)
  • Cheese or Chicken Quesadilla on Flour tortilla
I've tried teriyaki stir fry vegetables with chicken once. What I got was basically boiled vegetables with chicken, no stir-fry, no teriyaki. Personal rating: 👎(thumb down).

"Teriyaki stir fry vegetables with chicken"
Do you see ANY teriyaki?

While I did not order the hamburger or the cheeseburger, I did order the "All American Burger" which is a Monday special, which will be discussed there.

Welcome

Welcome to Picky Patient's Guide to Sutter Health Patient Menu!  Click on "Start Here" in the menu bar if you are not sure where to go.  As a former patient, I took some photos, and decided to rate the individual items.  This is meant to be a totally un-serious look at "hospital food", and no infringement or disparagement was intended. I understand it's difficult to make meals for hundreds, if not thousands of people at a time. And the ratings are a bit of... tongue-in-cheek. Any way, on with the guide.
